Join a dynamic and diverse group of faculty interested in educating quality PAs to work with under-resourced populations! The Joint MSPAS/MPH program at Touro University California is currently accepting applications for a full-time faculty position. Primary responsibilities include teaching and evaluating students, serving as a student advisor, assisting in curriculum development, and serving as a member of committees essential to the functioning of the Program. As the only PA program where all students receive both an MSPAS and an MPH, using a social justice framework and a public health lens, our mission is to 1) Recruit applicants from under-resourced communities and individuals with a demonstrated interest in serving these communities, 2) Educate PAs who will provide culturally sensitive care and advocate for under-resourced communities, and 3) Increase access to high-quality care for under-resourced communities with an emphasis in primary care.

Touro University California is a small campus of less than 1500 students offering graduate level education in medicine (DO and PA), pharmacy, education, public health and nursing. As a Jewish-sponsored institution, we have an additional 10 - 15 days per year of paid time off for Jewish holidays and close at 3 pm every Friday. Touro University California is an equal opportunity/affirmative action employer.

Touro is located on historic Mare Island in Vallejo, CA. Vallejo is the nation’s most diverse city and has the lowest cost of living in the Bay area. It is an easy ferry ride from San Francisco, at the gateway to wine country, and 3 hours from skiing and 4 hours from Yosemite.  Vallejo enjoys an excellent climate with year-round sailing, hiking, kayaking and other outdoor activities. As one of the few affordable communities in the Bay Area, Vallejo is attracting a growing art scene.

Requirements: Current NCCPA certification, a master’s degree, and eligibility for licensure in the state of California for PAs, physicians, pharmacists, or NPs. A minimum of 3 years of clinical experience is required and 2 years of teaching experience is preferred. An interest in public health is beneficial.

This position is commensurate with the rank of Assistant Professor or Associate Professor and offers a competitive salary based upon experience. PA/MD/DO/NP faculty will work one day a week at a local federally qualified health clinic (FQHC) providing mission-oriented care and precepting students on their clinical rotation. A stipend will be provided for faculty who perform these duties. Opportunities at the county exist in urgent care, psychiatry, family medicine, pediatrics, and women’s health. PharmD faculty will have the option for a one-day clinical release to maintain clinical pharmacist practice. Faculty practicing one day/week are still responsible for the duties and responsibilities listed in their job descriptions.

This position is available immediately and applications will be reviewed until the position is filled. A full job description and application are available at https://tuccareers-touro.icims.com/jobs/9721/principal-faculty/job.
